Neelam Gill is soon going to become a household name.

She has recently been in the news for being the first Indian model to appear in a Burberry ad campaign and needless to say it’s quite an achievement!

Her campaign with Burberry championed her Indian skin and thus began the journey to stardom for this dusky goddess.


And now for the big news – Ms. Gill has been chosen to be the new ambassador for Abercrombie & Fitch, and it is rocking our worlds for many reasons.


Abercrombie & Fitch have been pretty infamous for the lack of diversity among it’s models, but they claim to be evolving and Neelam is certainly a bold step towards doing that.


She has dominated the runways for top fashion houses like Dior, GAP and Kanye West. And now she is all set to be the “something new” A&F have been waiting for.


A retailer reported that as part of the changes at Abercrombie & Fitch, they are projecting a “modern, minimalist look, higher quality, and less sexual imagery.”

Gill is surpassing multiple boundaries – those of gender, race and class – and redefining the modelling industry with her success.


She still however has a long way to go and we wish her all the success she deserves!

Wherever her journey might take her, this country of a billion will be right there cheering for her!
